Besides weddings and engagement sessions — I have also been doing some baptism photography coverage! When I have time in my schedule — it’s nice to do something different and capture these special milestones in my client’s lives. This specific baptism was different because it was a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony which includes deep water baptism, cutting of the hair, and the godparent of the child plays a significant role during the elaborate event. Don’t you just love the nautical-themed outfits and party favors?
The ceremony took place at the Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Upland and was followed by lively reception. We also took time to do a few family portraits after the baptism at a nearby park.

This sweet little guy was not happy when they dunked him several times for the deep water baptism part of the ceremony.
He was all better though after a nice change of clothes. 🙂
And all smiles at the park where he got to play with his parents and doting extended family members!
