Trash the Dress Session

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a Trash the Dress session with a bunch of other photographers.  The model we worked with was super gorgeous and natural in front of the camera.  I loved her red shoes and the pop of color it added to our shoot.  Here are a few of my favorites from the workshop!  I am looking forward to doing more of these sessions in the future.  They are so much fun!

MCH - We don’t have ‘trash the dress’. So funny this is. How does the workshop go, you take turns taking photos with the model. Of course I love the last photo!

Alice in Wonderland Double Birthday Party – Jumping Jacks Rancho Cucamonga

I love kids … and  I want to have at least four.  Don’t tell my boyfriend though.  I think it scares him.:)

As far as I can remember, I have always loved children and taking care of them.  When I was a toddler, I would push my doll around in her stroller everywhere.  I nannied and babysat throughout college, and I think I would’ve been a schoolteacher if I wasn’t a photographer.  So it was without hesitation that I said yes – when Sayuri and Sydney’s parents asked me to take photos at their daughters’ second birthday party.  Sayuri and Sydney are cousins who turned two years old recently.  To celebrate the big event, their parents partnered and threw a lavish Alice themed double birthday extravaganza at Jumping Jacks in Rancho Cucamonga.

To say I had a ton of fun is an understatement.  I had a blast.  I got to jump around in huge inflatable castles, eat hot dogs and pizza, and pal around with a bunch of two-year-olds.  How fun is that!?

Check out this cake.  Isn’t the detail amazing?

Meet Sydney.  I thought she was the cutest girl ever.  Then I met her cousin Sayuri.

This is Sayuri.  What did I tell you?

Aren’t they both so freaking adorable?!  Watch out boys, these two are definitely going to be heartbreakers when they grow up.:)

This little gal is one of their friends who attended the party.  She was really cute and totally loved the camera!  I had to post this photo because she wouldn’t stop following me around all day.

Love this next photo of Sydney having a ball.  Looking at these pictures, makes me want to be a kid again.

This is Sayuri’s older brother.  He was such a good sport throughout the day and totally let his sister and cousin have the spotlight.  I hope my future kids are this well-behaved!

I asked Sayuri how old she was and she threw up the deuce sign!  So cute!

This was my favorite part of the event.  Sayuri and Sydney changed into their Alice outfits and it was time to cut the cake!

Here is a lovely photo of the girls with their beautiful moms.  They are such doting parents!

This is how I probably looked when I first saw the cake.  It was over the top amazing.

Time to blow out the candles!

I just had to take one more shot of the cake before it was destroyed.

And it was destroyed.  I had a piece and it was every bit as yummy as these girls made it look.

By the end of the party, everyone was really tired and you could tell it was nap time.  I love this photo of Sayuri with her poppa.  The expression on her face reads, “birthday mission accomplished.”:)

Portofino Yacht Club Wedding Ceremony & Reception – Katy & Brian

Katy contacted me three days before her wedding.  Can you believe that?  Her original photographer couldn’t make it at the last minute so she scoured the web and found me.  Luckily, I was available and was honored to be a part of her special day.  Katy and Brian had already gotten married in St. Thomas a few months prior but they did not get to have the reception they wanted for their friends and family.  So they decided to renew their vows in front of their loved ones in a small and intimate ceremony at the gorgeous Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club in Redondo Beach.

Katy is such a sweetheart.  From the very first moment that I met her, I felt welcomed and embraced.  She invited me to not just document her intimate event, but she made us feel like we were a part of the family.  Thanks so much Katy and Brian for having us there!
