As a wedding photographer – I often wonder what my own wedding will be like. I’ve shot more than a hundred weddings to date and out of all of them – this one comes as close to perfect as can be. If and when I do get married (one day!), I hope my wedding will be just like this. 🙂
Tina and Miguel come from huge families respectively but they didn’t want to go through the hassle of planning and having a big wedding. So they chose to get married discreetly in front of their very closest and most intimate group of friends and family. There might have been 18 guests present – tops. They’ve always loved downtown Los Angeles and consider the city to be their home so they picked Vista Hermosa Park, a small park with amazing views of the downtown skyline and chose to get married there under a beautiful old tree.
The ceremony was sweet for so many reasons. They carved their initials on the old tree after they were married, and they also opted to do their first dance as a couple, and father/daughter and mother/son dance right there immediately following the ceremony. How sweet is this? Even though the event was small – the day was still emotional and poignant. Look at those tears on Tina’s cheeks as she swayed in her father’s arms! I had to take a moment there to recompose myself and was so blurry-eyed behind the camera. 🙂
But the day doesn’t stop there! A lunch reception was held in downtown at the awesome loft-like restaurant, Industriel, which serves urban farm cuisine. They had the entire upstairs area to themselves and we were even allowed access to the rooftop where we took more portraits of the bride and groom! That was the perfect ending to an utmost perfect day, and I’m beyond thrilled to share these images with you all.
